Gilbert Twesigye, 17

School Coding Clubs · Kampala

"I have learnt a lot about computers and robots and I can't wait to become a software engineer because I know it is possible."

Gilbert joined CodeImpact's school coding club with no prior computer experience. Over the course of a year, he progressed from basic Scratch projects to building interactive games and programming BBC micro:bit robots. His confidence grew alongside his technical skills — he went from struggling with basic computer operations to teaching younger students how to code. Today, Gilbert is preparing for a career in software engineering, inspired by the mentors from Andela and Tunga who showed him what's possible.
