What your child will learn
Online and in-person classes follow the same modules.
-
Orientation- STEM & First Circuits
- What STEM means and where your child already sees it in everyday life.
- How to identify an LED and work out which way the current should flow (called “polarity”) — using two different methods.
- How to build a real, working LED circuit with the actual kit parts, and again on the computer using a free tool called TinkerCAD.
-
Switches & Circuit Control
- The difference between a switch that only works while held down (momentary) and one that stays on until flipped again (latching) with everyday examples.
- How to build a circuit with several LEDs, controlled individually and all together with one master switch.
-
Buzzers & Electrical Fundamentals
- How to correctly wire a buzzer together with LEDs and switches.
- What voltage, current and resistance are — explained through a simple water-pipe comparison.
- Why an LED always needs a small partner component called a resistor
-
Motors & Mechanical Design
- How to control small motors, including reversing their direction.
- Why a small protective component (a diode) is used with motors, and where it goes.
- The basics of mechanical design balance, where to place a switch, and keeping wires tidy.
-
Measurement & Component Safety
- How to use a multimeter — a tool that measures electricity — to check voltage, resistance and whether a wire is properly connected.
- How to work out the right resistor to use, with a bit of simple maths (Ohm’s Law).
- How to read a component’s safety information, so nothing gets damaged.
-
Breadboards & Circuit Configurations
- How to use a breadboard a reusable circuit-building board correctly, including its power rails.
- How to choose the right power source for a circuit.
- The difference between series and parallel circuits, and how to explain it.
-
Presentations & Certificates
- How to explain a project clearly and confidently to an audience
- How to talk through the components used, how the circuit works, and where it could be useful in real life
-
Analogue Control & Project Planning
- How to use a potentiometer a simple dial to control brightness, intensity or speed.
- How to put together a complete, tested plan for their build-day project.
-
Physical Construction Day
- How to bring a tested digital design to life with real components
- How to build a neat, working housing for their project
- How to check a circuit safely before switching it on, and fix problems methodically
About this programme
CodeImpact's December Holiday Impact Camp gives children aged 6–18 three weeks of hands-on coding and robotics. Beginners join Level 1 (Electronics); returners join Level 2 (Arduino). Physical at our Kampala hub or online — parent's choice. Full kit included. UGX 350,000. Starts 12th December 2026
